Daylily Deli

What do you get when you take a New York-style deli and put it in an Eastern Cincinnati suburban neighborhood, a highly unique place that is very special, and that is Daylily. I recently walked into this Deli in Columbia Tusculum, a vibrant and up-and-coming community with shops, eateries, churches, and walking paths. The front of the restaurant is very calming, with large windows where patrons can look into the shop and watch deli selections being created or relax and view the outside traffic, people walking by with their pets, and friends casually talking.

While standing at the counter to place your order, you can choose a refreshing beverage from their many selections. You may want mountain spring water, a soda, craft beer from Madtree, or Rhinegeist, a glass of wine, coffee, or tea. They can make your favorite coffee, whether latte, mocha, or expresso. However, there are several signature creations that they are proud of; the Honey Bear, which is local honey with cinnamon, the Holy Moly, which is cappuccino-sized mocha, cinnamon, and cayenne kick; or the Mapleleaf, which has cortado, maple syrup, and zest of orange if teas are more your style then a list of rishi teas, chai, as well as hot chocolate.

Tasty and filling Breakfast items:

They offer a Bodega Bagel, served plain with sesame, an everything mixture, cinnamon raisins, and your favorite spread choices.

Burrito of Champions; Farm Fresh scrambled eggs, refried beans, ham, cheddar, jack cheese, potatoes, Tomato, and salsa raja in a flour tortilla.

Egg on a Roll; two farm fresh eggs and American cheese on a roll or bagel; add ham, goetta, or bacon.

Lunchtime:

They have a variety of freshly made lunch sandwiches; some customer favorites are the following:

Yardbird is grilled chicken, swiss, avocado lettuce, onion, mayo, and Tomato on a roll or bun.

The Cubano is pork shoulder, ham, swiss, pickles, and mustard on a roll or bun.

The Reuben sandwich consists of corn beef, sauerkraut, swiss, thousand islands, and rye.

Several fresh garden salads are available and made daily.

They also have a marketplace where you can buy bottles of wine, cheeses, eggs, bacon, fresh vegetables, and pasta.

The staff is friendly and helpful with any questions or special needs. Plenty of indoor seating and artwork from local artists line the walls. a

However, there is also outdoor seating; the deck is beautiful, like being in the woods, with semi-enclosed tables and picnic areas.

I highly recommend you venture out and visit this oasis in the city.
