Mission Impossible -The Final Reckoning

Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning will leave theatergoers with that adrenaline fix they have been craving.    There will be one action scene on top of another, with many death-defying moments.  There will be cliffhangers that occur in the air as well as wells hundreds of feet underwater.  Ethan, played by Tom Cruise, will keep you on the edge of your seat, especially when you know that Tom does all his stunts. 

The eighth movie in the Mission Impossible Franchise and the second part of a storyline introduced in 2023 with movie number seven in the series, The Dead Reckoning Part One.  There is a rogue artificial intelligence known as the Entity, which possesses a God Complex and seeks to redesign the world in its image. To accomplish this, the  Entity is seizing control of global nuclear systems, aided by an undercover doomsday cult. However, Its actions are bringing the world closer to atomic oblivion. Nevertheless, Ethan is doing everything in his power to stop this from happening while trying to protect his friends and keep the world safe.

Meanwhile, Gabriel, the Entity’s previous lieutenant, is now recruiting Ethan to retrieve the Entity’s source code and a poison pill program from Luther so he can control it. Additional members of the US Military establishment also seek control of the Entity. 

Besides Tom Cruise, the movie also stars Hayey Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Henry Czerny, and Angela Bassett.

The Final Reckoning had its world premiere in Tokyo on May 5, 2025, was screened out of competition at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on May 14, and was theatrically released in the United States on May 23 by Paramount Pictures. The film received positive reviews from critics and has grossed $353 million worldwide, becoming the eighth highest-grossing film of 2025, in addition to having the largest opening weekend of the franchise.
