the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra presents two summer concert in regional parks. The first, under the direction of Pops Conductor John Morris Russell, and in partnership with the Great Parks Foundation, takes place at Miami Whitewater Forest on Wednesday, June 29 at 8:15 p.m.
This idyllic setting provides the backdrop for a broad array of music from artists ranging from John Phillip Sousa, Stephen Foster, James Brown, Walk the Moon and John Williams. The next day, the Orchestra travels to Troy, OH with Associate Conductor Keitaro Harada for its annual concert in Prouty Plaza on Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m. Dubbed “Pops Favorites” and featuring Associate Principal flutist Henrik Heide, the Orchestra will deliver fan favorites from opera, Broadway and the movies like The Secret Garden, Candide, and Porgy and Bess, as well as pop favorites from today, and some of the nation’s collection of historic melodies.
