NEWPORT OKTOBERFEST

Dates: September 22 – 23 – 24
Location: Festival Park, Riverboat Row, Newport Riverfront

The Newport Oktoberfest is promised to be the most authentic Oktoberfest in the area. The event will be in the Munich Oktoberfest style of large Fest Tent sponsored by German Beer Breweries. Each tent will have food, beer and music. Participating restaurants include Wertheim’s and others. There will also be continuous live German entertainment. RHYTHM BREW ART AND MUSIC FEST

Historic Newport Downtown Businesses will delight your senses at this festival held outdoors adjacent to Wooden Cask Brewing on York Street. A great showcase of local art and music, dining, entertainment and shopping venues.

MERMAIDS SWIM INTO NEWPORT AQUARIUM

September 29 through October 15

The mermaids are coming back to Newport Aquarium – and this year, they’re bringing pirates, too.

Guests also will have the opportunity to personally meet a mermaid while inside the Shark Ray Bay Theater. Daily mermaid dive and meet-and-greet times are included with regular admission.

This year, guests will encounter pirates through their Newport Aquarium adventure and even have the chance to meet a pirate in the aquarium’s newest experience – Stingray Hideaway.

“Newport Aquarium’s mermaids are a tradition Cincinnati looks forward to every year,” said Chad Showalter, senior marketing and communications manager at Newport Aquarium. “And this year’s addition of pirates will give guests even more to discover during their adventure.”

The first event of the season, the Mermaids and Pirates Ball is on Friday, Sept. 29^th at

6p.m. This after-hours family-friendly costume party includes appetizers and refreshments, dancing, an adventure map and mermaid and pirate-themed activities. There’s also a special mermaid meet-and-greet and much more. Tickets can be purchased online for this signature event.
