Groucho

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park opened an amazing production of An Evening With Groucho on November 9th. Groucho Marx was one of America’s greatest comedians who’s life of public performances spanned over 60 years. He had been in numerous movies such as Monkey Business, Duck Soup, At the Circus and A Day at the Races. He along with his Brothers, Chico, Harpo, Gummo, and Zeppo toured the country for 20 years performing onstage as the Marx Brothers playing to the crowds. Groucho entertained the audiences on his own in, You bet your life for 14 years first on radio and then on television.

Frank Ferrante brings the persona of Groucho in this show back to life. Patrons can expect nothing less than a performance that Groucho Marx would enjoy. Frank is lively, fun, refreshing, animated and interactive with the audience. He does classic skits, performs some of Groucho’s famous characters such as Captain Spalding, and discusses Groucho’s life and times. He has performed Groucho over 2,250 times and in over 400 cities. His talent has not gone unnoticed winning New York’s Theatre World Award, and nominations with the Outer Critics Circle and the Laurence Oliver Award.
