Sammy Hagar Rock Legend Keeps Rocking!

Sammy Hagar is a legendary rock vocalist, songwriter, musician, and businessman. He is an artist that has stood the test of time with over four decades in the music entertainment business. He has been a force to be reckoned with since the 1970’s performing in several cutting edge bands, his first was Montrose in 1973 performing in two albums with them before venturing out on his solo career and his first solo album he which was called the “Red Album. The album was successfully and eventually going gold. Additional albums followed in 1981 Standing Hampton, which went platinum and Three Lock Box in 1982 that went gold. He also released hit singles at the time of A Whiter Shade of Pale, and I can’t drive 55.

 He is best known for his years as lead vocalist for hard rock band Van Halen which he joined in 1985 to replace lead singer David Lee Roth who had left the band. Sammy Hagar performed with the band from 1985 to 1996. During that time, the band achieved several multi-platinum albums that hit #1 on the Billboard Chart s. These included 5150OU812, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge, and Balance. Internal personality differences with Eddie Van Halen and the band’s new manager Ray Daniels caused Hager to leave the band. David Lee Roth rejoined the band as lead vocalist.  

Sammy remerged as a solo artist in 1997 with Marching to Mars, which made the top 20. He formed a new band called the Waboritas and released Red Voodoo. Between 2003 and 2005, he did a reunion tour with Van Halen. David Lee Roth and Sammy divided time being the lead vocalist for the group.

 However, more recently, he has two bands Chickenfoot, and The Circle. The bands have a variety of talents. Chickenfoot has the likes of Michael Anthony from Van Halen on bass guitar, Redhot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, and guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani. The Circle has Michael Anthony on bass, guitarist Vic Johnson and former drummer for Led Zeppelin Jason Bonham. In 2015 Sammy released an album with Circle,  At Your Service, then in 2019 studio release of The Space In Between.

Other ventures that Sammy is involved with his bar and restaurant in Cabo San Lucas Mexico called Cabo Wabo Cantina and Sammy’s Beach Bar & Grill in St. Louis and Las Vegas, Nevada.
