Sevendust

A Band for the Ages

One of today’s most unique and creative bands is Sevendust. They have been a leading force in the Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Alternative, and Grunge music genres. They have released over 15 albums, including 3 RIAA Gold-certified albums, and have received a Grammy Award, as well as appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Late Night with David Letterman.

They formed in 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia, with Vinnie Hornsby on Bass, Morgan Rose on Drums, and John Connolly on Guitar. Later, they added Lajon Witherspoon, their lead vocalist, and Clint Lowery on Guitar.

They have performed alongside bands such as Disturbed, Korn, Slayer, Stone Sour, and Iron Maiden.

Their most recent album, released in January 2026, is called “One.” It features cutting-edge songs like “Is This the Real You,” “Unbreakable,” “Threshold,” and “Construct.” It has intense sounds, techno, and rhythms that will leave you wanting more.

Some prior success included their 1997 Self-Titled debut album, “Sevendust,” with singles Black and Bitch; the songs peaked at #30 on Mainstream Rock Tracks, and the album peaked at 165 on the Billboard 200 in April 1998 and went Gold in May 1999. Second Album “Home” peaked at #19 on the Billboard 200 with hit songs “Denial” and “Waffle”; in 2001, the third Album, Animosity, went gold with hit songs “Praise” and “Angels Son.”

Sevendust, according to Lajoh Witherspoon,, was influenced by many artists and genres, such as Metallica, Anthrax, Van Halen, Nine Inch Nails, and Steve Vai, as well as genres like jazz, Rock, R&B, and classical music.

This band will continue to be a driving force, entertaining fans and influencing the music industry for years to come.
