Ovation in Newport is currently under construction with a parking garage and music venue and now has new plans to build a hotel and office building adjacent to the current construction.
The construction, which started in fall, will cost an estimated $40 million. The hotel, a 125-room Hilton Homewood Suites, and office complex are in the planning stages and comes with an additional investment of $45 million.
The long-awaited Ovation project is a $1 billion, 25-acre mixed-use development that will include more than 900 residential units, restaurants, retail, hotels and offices in the west end of Newport in Campbell County.
The hotel and the office building will be built above the 550-car parking garage that is under construction as part of the indoor/outdoor concert venue. Work has continued on the music pavilion during the Covid-19 pandemic and Corporex expects to complete the venue before the end of the year
The office building is estimated at 100,000 square feet and will be five stories according to plans. The bottom level will be retail space.
The hotel is being designed with skyline views, an expanded fitness area and two bars, one on the rooftop and another on the plaza level.
Permit drawings for the hotel and office building will be submitted to the city and county and Corporex hopes that construction can begin before the end of the year.
